- Here are some dip switch settings for the old 1200s:
-
- The 4-switch PM1200 internal modem is a very old model. It does not support
- the RS232C signal DCD. It can only be used in either COM1 or COM2. It has a
- plastic knob to adjust the volume. These modems have a 4-digit serial number
- prefixed with either an A or B. The meaning of the switches are:
-
- Switch # ON OFF
- 1 Ignore DTR - modem always ready Support use of DTR
- 2 Modem sends Verbose result codes Result codes in numbers
- 3 Auto-answer on first ring Auto-answer disabled
- 4 Maps modem into COM1 Maps modem into COM2
-
-
- The 6-switch PM1200 internal modem is also a very old model. It has a plastic
- knob to adjust the volume. These modems have a 4 or 6-digit serial number
- prefixed with an S. It will operate in computers with clocks to 6Mhz. The 'C'
- revision of this modem will operate in an 8-10 Mhz computer. The meanings of
- the switches settings are:
-
- Switch # ON OFF
- 1 Support use of DTR DTR forced TRUE always
- 2 Modem sends Verbose result codes Result codes in numbers
- 3 Auto-answer on first ring Auto-answer disabled
- 4 DCD TRUE with connection DCD forced TRUE always
-
- Switch #5 Switch #6
- COM1 OFF ON
- COM2 OFF OFF
- COM3 ON ON
- COM4 ON OFF
-
-
- Hope this helps.
